Giving with Respect
Project Type: Editorial Design · Brochure & Publication Design · Native-Centered Visual Communications
Client: Nia Tero and collaborating nonprofit organizations
Designer: Colvard Media Design
Project Overview
Colvard Media Design collaborated with Nia Tero and several nonprofit partners in Indian Country to design a donor education manual focused on helping people better understand how to give to Native organizations.
The publication was developed as an educational resource to inform donors about the importance of supporting Native-led organizations and the communities they serve. The design needed to communicate complex information clearly while reflecting the cultural identity, values, and perspectives of the Native communities at the heart of the project.
Design Approach
The manual was designed with a Native-centered visual approach, incorporating thoughtfully selected imagery, geometric patterns, and a warm, earthy color palette. The layout balances storytelling, data, and practical guidance to make the information accessible and engaging for donors.
A strong, welcoming cover that sets the tone for the publication.
Combines key messages, clear information, and community photography.
Uses strong visuals, typography, and data to explain important context.
Closes with practical resources, an inspiring final message, and a call to action.
At Colvard Media Design, I create communications materials that are thoughtful, culturally informed, and designed to support the people and missions they serve.
